  • Snakehead fishing

    Hello all,

Trying to go out tomorrow morning with a friend to go catch some snakehead(s). Recent reports don't seem that promising at Mattawoman. Any tips on locations and tackle would be greatly appreciated!

    *bonus*

Went to OC inlet last weekend, buddy pulled this 28" up! Caught on a ~1oz jighead with a sandflea

Nice to know the reds are all the way up to OC, too bad it's over the slot

Ive had good luck right up against shoreline at mattawoman. There is a small strip of lily-pad free water near the shoreline.

Awesome, thanks! Guess mattawoman it is!

Ended up just going to the BB with my friend Tim. He was riding in a tarpon 140 in orange camo. We didn't get any stripers, but didn't really know what we were doing either haha. Caught this random cat 11200783_10156048267310495_1189383296219012220_n.jpg

Hold on.. you caught a catfish at the baybridge may be something special all in itself!

Channel catfish are in Whitehall Bay. Raptor got one trolling there last week. I got one casting a 1/2 oz. jig dressed with a Fat Sam near Kent Narrows last year. I'm not surprised they are at the Bay Bridge. They're very adaptable fish; just a little confusing when you're reeling them in (when you're not expecting them) because you know they're something different from a striper but you're not sure what you have until you see them. Good catch, dkwon.
