Going on vacation to North Myrtle Beach on Aug 15-22 and lugging the Outback down with me. In my research I have identified Little River Inlet as a potentially good place to fish. Was just curious if anybody has any past experiences on launch locations? Does the tide rip there? Also any other places to fish that anybody knows of will be greatly appreciated. As for tactics was going to do the usual trolling and bottom fishing with live bait around jettys.

I would check out www.pierandsurf.com for up to date reports. Murrels Inlet is a great area for kayak fishing, but a bit of a drive from North MB.

I went through there recently and the tide does rip on the outgoing! I did a head boat and it was truly one of the worst head boats I've ever been on. Bad bait, lazy mates, and a captain that didn't really care if there was any fishing time.

It looked like those jetties or bridge pilings should hold sheepshead though.
      Used to fish more.

You might want to check out Georgetown which is about 25 miles south of central Myrtle Beach. It is a bigger bay area with lots of marsh area with canals running though it and plenty of redfish to be found in skinny water. We just came back from there and went on a 1/2 day charter with Sweet Tea charters out of Georgetown. He was an awesome captain and probably the best guide I've been out with. He has an awesome personality and a lot of fun to fish with. You might be able to talk him into a mothership trip with your kayak. I mentioned some thing to him about it and he said he has been pondering it because his son was trying to talk him into it. The 1/2 day trip was 450 for 3 of us. He will definitely put you on the redfish and give you a fun speed boat ride on top of it thru the winding marsh canals. Hope this helps .Ryan
