Mariner Point gate lock time?

Was thinking about fishing Mariner Point sometime this week in the evening, I know the park closes at sunset, but does gate at Kearney Dr lock at a certain time? I usually fish until almost dark and don't want to get locked in.

I've never seen the gate locked and I sometimes get there at sunrise.

I have friends in the neighborhood that tell me the secret is it's always open.....shhhhhhh

Thanks, I have been there early as well and never had an issue getting in. Hopefully will fish it this week, have been avoiding it because of all the summer boat traffic on the weekends.
