With it starting to get a little cooler sooner I think I'm going to get back to the monotony of attempting to catch my first musky. The river really isn't deep at all up here and I know I'm going to be getting snagged up frequently using big crankbaits with treble hooks and what not. I've seen a few designs for lure knockers, but was wondering if anyone on here had anything that has really been working for them for awhile. Gracias.

Sega, I would personally try to get by with using a big single hook lure like a swimbait or spinnerbait to catch muskies in shallow snaggy rivers. I've never caught one though, but if it works for Pike and Pickerel it probably will work for Muskies.Olive Trophy 126 - Moored at Rocky Gorge Scott's Cove

I've bought two over the years.
The first had a egg shaped weight with a spiral metal rod extending downward from the bottom in a swirl pattern that got bigger as it got farther from the bottom of the weight. It worked great.
The second one had a weight with several small short chains hanging off the bottom of the weight. It worked, but was much harder to get it to hook up to the lure.
This thread reminds me I have not been carrying one with me while kayaking. I need to dig one of them up and put it in the coffee can (used for semi water tight storage).

Doug Stange from the in-fisherman magazine recommends swimbaits for Muskies as well. I'm sure spinnerbaits would work well too.
