    I think it's interesting that the videographer's first comment was that he got the shot, not any concern for the kayakers.

    I've been to Monterey Bay and seen the whales up close from a 50 foot boat, not a kayak. The whales are enormous and I was concerned that even our boat would not be up to the task should one of the whales go rogue.

    Those kayakers were fortunate to survive.

      I personally don't like seeing this. These yakkers either paddle or ride out on a mothership looking for whales. And then when they find them they act like, "Oh we were just out for a paddle and these curious whales surrounded us".

      Doesn't the MMPA say that closer than 50 yards is harassing the animal?

        I am sure we have all seen the video of the whale jumping on the sail boat and sinking it.. that was a large sailboat... not a kayak.
        People who use the word "literally" wrong literally kill me.
