  • O.C. Fishing?

Never have, but we are heading there this weekend.
Staying in a cabin at some camp ground for 4 days.
Anyhow, throwing a yak and Canoe in the back of the truck.
Soo, were's the fish and how do I get em ?

We are looking to do some early morning and late day evening fishing from shore and launch the canoe and yak to paddle around/fish.
I don't want to get to far from the rest of the crew, just paddle the kids around and drop a line or 2.

Any and all pointer are welcome,,
OH forgot, my 12 y.o. wants to catch a shark, any idea's ?

    Thanks,

Not sure where your staying, but if the campground is behind Assateague on 611 you can pretty much just launch off the beach there and fish the bays behind Assateague (good for flounder)

Use flounder rig, shiner/squid combo, or gulp alive. Or you can jig for them.

Surf fishing you can do all day off of Assateague Island. Check the tides generally the incoming high tide is the best.

Read this report for some other details.

Shark wise I know some small dogfish were caught in the bays behind assateague drifting the channel with squid.

    Good luck.
