Anyone going this year? We went last year and it was nuts. You can find some really good deals on hotels down there this time of year as well. We're going down October 15th-18th.

We've gone the last 4 years, and have been able to find some great deals on VRBO since it's the off season. Way cheaper than even a hotel since it was 4 people pooling together $$. Are you guys fishing for bulls in the surf?

Wow really? We got 3 nights at the colonial inn for $200 after taxes. Nothing special but it's clean and attached to the nags head pier.

Yea we'll be going for bulls and sharks for those 3 days. I would bring my kayak but my 3 brothers are coming with me and none of them have a boat so we're sticking to surf fishing.

Last year the surf was insanely rough. Hoping it isn't as bad this year, and if it is we plan on heading north to Corolla in hopes it'll be a little more settled.

Just returned. Did fairly well

A lot of blues, pompano, spot, sea mullet, and a few drum and flounder.


Went on a charter for kicks and giggles. Pulled in a boat load of Spanish mackerel and more blues.

Pine Knoll Shores. I took a gheenoe down to fish the marshes around Bogue sound for reds and trout, but I never made it out. Maybe next time

You doing 8nbait for the Reds? I saw some guy on YouTube put gulp on a top and bottom rig, gonna try that this year.

That's normally what I throw but it all depends on waves and wind.

I'll be down there all next week. Super excited to get some fishing in, but I've never surf fished before nor have I ever fished OBX so we'll see how it goes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
