Just a reminder and perhaps an incentive for more Snaggedliners to join us on 12 December.

We can only hope the weather stays as nice as has been recently but of course we are entering December and it will be a bit nippy on our outing. Fortunately, pickerels remain active even when the water chills.

I've learned that no color is too bright to discourage a determined pickerel. (They'll also work for white perch and stripers cruising the shallows.)

So please keep the date in mind and join us if you can.

Here you go:

When: Saturday, Dec 12, 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Your co-hosts: John Rentch (J. Rentch) and Mark Bange (Mark)

Where: Our primary launch site is Jonas Green Park located underneath the Rt. 450 Bridge that crosses the Severn River near the Naval Academy. There are at least three other access points to the Severn River near Annapolis:

1) Tucker St. ramp in west Annapolis that leads into Weems Creek
2) Truxton Park that leads into Spa Creek
3) Ellen Moyer Water Park that leads into Spa Creek.

Note that trailers may not be parked at Jonas Green or Tucker St. launch points. The Ellen Moyer Park has a very small parking area and no formal launch ramp. There is an inclined ramp covered with plastic plates for sliding a kayak into the water but no access for a trailer to that ramp.

If you are planning to attend and launch from any site other than Jonas Green please announce so here.

John Rentch and I will be at Jonas Green at 7:00 a.m. to greet you and share our insights on where to fish.

Lunch will be at the Red Hot & Blue on Route 50. Will you and your son be joining us for lunch?

Santa's Elves have been very busy at the tying bench:

We can extend our offer of a free spinner to more than the first 10 who join us for fishing.

So right now we have 11 spinners going to new homes and more still available for other participants thanks to the elves.

A few of the OGWLF group were out yesterday and found some willing pickerels in the Severn's tributaries. Lets hope the pickerels remain active on 12 December. For that matter let's hope the old guys remain active too!
