  • Trolling rocket launcher

I bought an Elie Coast 120XE Angler yesterday and tool it out today. I quickly realized that I'd like to make a rocket launcher-type trolling set-up out of PVC that fits in the flush mounted rodholders so I don't have to keep craning my neck around to see the rods. My buddy Tom Lagana made a cool set-up for his Hobie but I think his flush mounted rod holder set-up is different from mine. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! Looking to do this tomorrow.

The main thing you need to keep in mind, is building it so your paddle stroke isn't effected. Those of us with pedals have a lot more options in that arena, because our paddles are not the main source of propulsion.

If you want to look at what I went through, and some ideas check the Rocket Launcher link in my signature line...that might give you some ideas.

Most excellent! That's kind of what I am going for but I will have to angle the holders up a bit to stay out of the way of the paddle.

I would suggest having the rod holders higher and keep the angle lower, so you paddle under the rods, and don't have the rods pointed up too high.
