  • Pickeral fishing tomorrow on the severn

I'm looking to go out on the Severn river tomorrow to do some Pickeral fishing, anyone going out or interested to meet up?

    Hey,

Just FYI, I was on weems today. The water clarity was terrible. Tried everything in my box and only caught one. No follows from what I could see, but again, the water clarity was bad. I hope its better for you tomorrow. Good luck!

Thanks, and thanks for the update, I didn't realize that the water clarity would be that bad, I don't think it will be much better tomorrow.
It's going to be pretty nice out weather wise. Maybe I'll just end up paddling, hmm.

There were a few small stripers caught closer to the mouth. If you strike out with pickerel it might be worth a look.

Hi guys, well I didn't end up going as I figured the water was just too stained, I'm looking to go out later in the week, sorry no report!

I was out on a Magothy Trib today for a couple of hours and did reasonably well despite the water being very stained. I pulled 5 fish from traditional pickerel habitat - 16", 17', 19", 21" and 22". I do not feel the water color had any significant impact on the bite

                  Bruce,

Good to hear. Spinners, shad, the usual?

                  Thanks,
                  Steve

I fished the Severn today for pickerel and had very similar results as EMSer. Half a dozen pickerel up to ~20 inches and 3 stripers in the mid teens. Water clarity did not impact the bite at all. All fish caught on spinners.
