  • Looking to go Rockfishing this New Years Eve

Since the weather looks decent for this Thursday I want to try fish the bay around the key bridge or some other location, Any ideas? Trying to make the northern Baltimore area my home waters since I spent most of my rock fishing down southern Maryland. I trolled and jigged the Key Bridge area last week with another member and did Ok considering. I really want to troll since I am still tweaking my set up with my new kayak. I have about 90% of my trolling gear. Let me know if anyone wants to go or work another area.
    Thanks John

    Where are you located?

Key bridge area has been pretty good this fall. Trolling is the way I fish the bay 99% of the time I spend on the water. That other 1% is casting to breaking fish. Jigs and paddle tails is most of what I use.

I live in Pikesville. Probably got to Armistead. I want to work that area again. Need to tweak my trolling. It is an adjustment from doing it from a boat.

Yes I have an Elite 4 HDI. After reading Alan Battista's book and rereading and reading it some more , there is a lot to this kayak fishing. I was spoiled in a power boat. Just run and gun anywhere. I need to start to plan my trips and look at the charts to pick a fishy location. Take notes and come up with a game plan.

Take a look at the Navionics web app, click on the sonar button in the bottom left corner to get the detailed "sonar maps" turned on.
