Just saw these for the 1st time today. It's like a mini planer board.... a bobber with directional control.

Yes, I have tried them. The gentleman selling them sent me a few to try. They unfortunately are not applicable for trolling because they're too small and light to pull anything without getting overwhelmed.. You could probably use them for walking a shoreline with something very light tackle or throwing out into a river with very light tackle, but from a kayak, I ended up frustrated. I wanted them to work, but I've never found a suitable planar board for use on a kayak. They end up being more of a mess than anything else.

What about using it while just casting? They show a guy using it on the retrieve to weave around structure you might otherwise snag.

That would be ok if the lure (probably bait) were very light.
