    Inconsistent depth/fish readings
    Use the well method:

      Good video.

But the test patty of duct seal on the car window is much thicker than I used.

I laid my transducer on a thinner bed of duct seal putty (in lieu of making a well) and it has performed consistently and it has remained in place.

The layer under the transducer is very thin. The edges are thick to promote adherence.

Also, twist ties are very helpful in managing the excess wire.

I wish this method worked for me, but my readings were always garbage using duct seal.

I had to change my frequency settings to get a good picture with the duct seal. Worked fine after that.
