Can someone mark on the google maps where the parking for the park is and where they launched from? There seems to be a confusion of what trails to take to get to the water.
The sand on the beach is really soft. Dragging tires through that is probably one of the toughest parts. It might even be easier to just drag the kayak itself through the sand then get tires on once you're on the little boardwalk or asphalt.
This map looks different from the one posted earlier by frettr, which showed parking near the sanitation office and launching at area #6. Thanks for posting this trail map.

If you could park near the sanitation office, and have a path to haul the kayak, that would be great. I saw it looked like a closer spot to the bridge from there, I just did not know how to get there. That closer location might make using TP alittle easier.
I'll check out the sanitation office area next time I go and see if there's anywhere to park or if the trail is blocked off from there. It would cut off about a 1/4 mile from paddling if area 6 is accessible.
Here's a zoomed shot of the sanitation area. The question is whether or not that path to the south (which gives access to the walking trail) is blocked off by a gate or not.
- If you could park near the sanitation office, pull you yak along the first trail (assuming no locked gate up front) and cut across the field heading southwest toward the beach. Don't turn northeast toward area # 6. There looks like two smaller barely visible trails that head southwest from the first trail.
- This one is ideal. What about the asphalt area next to the highway? It's southwest of the sanitation office a couple hundred yards. There seems to be some type of structure there. The area looks like an access or staging area for the park. If we could park there, we could pull the yak parallel to the highway straight to the beach. Maybe we can make a trail if one isn't there.
