Paddlelogic carts

Has anyone tried a Paddlelogic kayak cart? Interesting design that looks like it would work well with narrower and lighter kayaks, but I wonder how it would withstand the weight and girth of a fishing kayak?

Maybe so, but at this point I am mainly curious whether it would work with a wide, heavy kayak, particularly one that is loaded with a crate or livewell.

......... Would be wonderful if it would handle a PA and I think it will ........ I talked to the owner and he knows it will handle up to 220 lbs on pavement. The 125 lb is when it is thru the woods.

I'm glad you posted this because I've been in contact with these guys and I bought 2 earlier. It should be shipped this week hopefully.

I was excited when I saw it because the scupper carts are pain and a problem putting on in the water.

I bought 2 so I can put 1 on the front and 1 on the back so I don't have to lift and pivot my barge. Now I can just pull it along behind me.

Oh and I might be getting some of the other things Dave has invented for you guys to try. He's sending something called the paddle Jack for you guys to try too

Great to hear someone is going to give it a try. I too thought the design would make it a lot easier to exit the water. I generally don't have any issues using a scupper cart for the Outback, but a scupper cart is tricky to use with my tandem island due to its weight and the fact that it has amas that make tilting the kayak difficult.

Needless to say, I am looking forward to your product review.

Interesting design but look where the wheels sit- way back on the stern. That means that any gear forward of the center of the wheels, you're going to have to lift while hauling. Most other carts are/can be positioned closer to the center of the boat, enabling one to balance gear (and hopefully fish) fore and aft of the cart's wheel center. For long drags, it's worth a couple extra minutes balancing the weight distribution in the boat so that you can lift the front of the kayak with a finger. Your hauling arm and shoulder will thank you for it. And for what it is, it's a very pricey cart.

.......... Hobie Cart is $160+ ........ C tug is $150 to $180 ........., seems in line with other quality carts and this one has a lifetime guarantee ........ Haven't seen that on any cart. You can get them 40" wide so you can move it as far forward as you on most yaks. That video just shows you 1 cart. Have to read about all of them. Guess I will see. I know he is designing one to handle the T17 PA ........ It's 42" wide.

Just consider how low that cart rides- not much clearance between the keel and the ground. If you slide the wheels forward, the stern is likely to drag on the ground when you lift the bow. Of course you can always stoop over to keep the boat level as you haul ........

I'll be interested in the review. Shattered my diy pvc cart in the cold a few weeks ago. Was considering a c-tug. I'll hold off for your thoughts.

Oh ..... I think the video of the smaller wheels was meant to show how well it holds on because he pulled a stump up with it and it didn't come off.

I am making a fit version.....memorymaker, will you post a vid or pics and a review when yours arrives? I'd only use one for parking lot goes so carrying the weight would be no nevermind to me. I have the ref cart for long hauls but I hate taking all that time to strap up.

I found a few guys on another forum making exact replicas for 1/10 the price, so I gave their design a try. Pretty easy to duplicate. My replica has a few issues. First, it is key to have it centerd if you have weight in/on your yak. Second, that type of wheel is not good for sand. The good news is that once you get the centering down, it takes all of 30 seconds to have it on the cart and moving. The other issues can be a wide yak. The tubing bows out so far that it rubs the wheels. You learn pretty quickly which end of your yak works better to avoid that issue.
