  • Red Drum and Rockfishing Seminar!!!

Despite the freezing temps and the light dusting of white stuff on the ground this morning, spring is fast approaching which means it is time for bull red drum and large stripers! If you would like to know more information on successfully targeting these awesome species, come join myself (Hobie Pro Staff), Adam Corry (Wilderness Pro Staff) and the guys from Survival Products on April 2nd for a seminar focusing on all the in's and out's of how it is done. We'll focus mostly on the spring fishery, but will also cover how the tactics and locations change as spring transitions into summer and summers turns into fall. After the seminar, we will be having a casual, laid-back day of fishing targeting whatever bottom feeders are hanging around Roaring Point; such as white perch, catfish, and if the weather warms enough...croakers. If you do not have a kayak, Survival Products will have some rentals available. Below is the rest of information. Hope to see you there!

Refreshing this thread for those who may have missed it. It'll be a great event. We have around 15 registered now, so it should turn into a nice little meet and greet.

New member here, registered just to respond to this. It looks like it will be pretty stormy on Saturday. Will that affect the seminar? Also, how much is the registration?

The weather as of right now is calling for a few showers first thing in the morning but it should clear up by the time the seminar begins. I didn't see any thunderstorms in the forecast, but if that changes we will contact everyone. I don't mind a few showers but lightning is a no go for us. The wind also looks doable. A little breezy but doable. We can always travel down the road to a more protected body of water a very short distance away if the wind is too much at the point. And as always all Survival Products seminars are free of charge. Thanks for your interest and we hope to see you there!

Just an update for those attending.....

Right now the forecast is calling for a little rain in the morning, but the winds look GREAT...which is the most important thing. There is a pavilion at the ramp to huddle under for the presentation and we will also be brining a tent in case we have too many people to comfortably fit under the pavilion. The seminar will begin at 10:00 AM sharp, so we can all get to fishing afterwards at 11:00. If you would like to arrive early, there is a beach just behind the pavilion where you can set up your kayak to save time.

For those who are on the fence and haven't registered, but would like to attend...it is still not too late. Just send Joe an email.
