  • Taylor's Island info

I am trying to get some fishing intel on the Taylor's Island / Slaughters creek area. I see there is the Taylor's island family campground but couldn't find much info about it.

I am wondering when would be a good time to go and what types of fish are in the area. I assume the usual croaker, spot and rockfish will be there but is there any chance of specks or reds?

I haven't fished there but folks catch specks and the occasional red just south of there in the Honga when they are around so why not?

Around the mouth of Punch Island Creek can be good in the fall. I've caught keeper flounder there before in addition to good sized striper and some fat perch. Only specs we ever caught were little spikes.

I've never tried fishing Slaughter Creek, but the crabbing there can be really good.
