Kayak Volunteers Needed

Under the leadership of the Ulman Cancer Fund For Young Adults, The Columbia Triathlon will be held on Sunday May 15th at Centennial Park in Ellicott City, Maryland. We are currently seeking volunteers with kayaks to help patrol the swim course. Duties will include giving directional assistance, allowing swimmers to rest by holding on to your kayak, to provide encouragement, and to signal if assistance is needed. The swim portion begins at 6:45 a.m. so kayakers need to be at the Park and ready to go by 6:15 a.m. If anyone is interested, please contact John Burtman via email at j.burtman@comcast.net. Those interested will receive an informational packet with instructions, timelines, and directions to the Park. Breakfast food and a t-shirt is provided. This is about a 4 hour commitment and you can launch from your car right at the waters edge. Thank you.
