Surf fishing in OC

Hey fellers. I'll be OC for the day on Tuesday. I'm unable to bring my kayak but I'll probably bring my surf gear. Can I fish off the jetty by the fishing pier? Anyone recommend some other spots?

other places that are good are the pier. the bridge & the surf. Stripers blues & small sharks can be found..

Do they have a time restriction on it? I know you can't fish the beach during the day

Pier and jetty any time. I think the beach is closed when the lifeguards are posted (10:00 AM - 6 PM ?)

Sweet. I'm gonna throw some cut bait and see what's around the jettys. Hopefully it's not too crowded on a Tuesday

Sometimes if there is a good swell coming in, and the lifeguards are on duty, they will block off the jetty to keep people from walking out there and falling off. But other than that it's 24/7.
