  • First Yak..

    Hey.
I'm Steve and I live in Bel Air. I had a Classic Accessories Colorado and it was pretty sweet. I liked it but I wanted to take it in the ocean. Since it was inflatable I used my better judgment and didn't want to catch a shark with inflatable pontoons dictating my life against shark teeth.
I bought the Ascend H12. So far so good. I really like it because I can stand and fish and it has tons of room.

I creeped this fourum for a while and decided to finally post up. So... Hey.

I think that white color is new for this year for the Ascends.. it really looks good. A lot of people have reported to be very happy with that boat. Don't be shy, if you are heading out post on the Maryland page and someone might join you.. that is post there if you actually want people to join you.

                Congratz on the new yak.
Did you see the episode of River Monsters where Jeremy was fishing in one of those inflatables for Tarpon.

Thanks Pat. I decided on the white because I thought it might keep the suns heat off me. It seems to be working pretty good so far.

Im in Forest Hill and my office is in Joppa. We may need to have a HarCo outing on the lower Susky. My favorite water for kayak fishing.
Tarpon 120, no electronics, no pedals.
                    Tarpon 100, the karma boat.

I really want to fish at the Bay Bridge. I don't know much about fishing there but it sounds like a blast. I watch a guy named Kayak Kevin on YouTube. He fishes it allot and crushes it.

The easiest way to learn the Bay Bridge is to attend the yearly CBKA tournament... a ton of us head there and fish for the day. The CBKA is probably the most fun you will have kayak fishing. There is a meet up the night before, you can stay the night at the launch site, then launch the next morning and fish all day, then at the end of the day there is a nice awards ceremony and more food and drinks... it is really a ton of fun.

Last year I came within a half of placing in the largest Rock fish portion of the contest.. and I SUCK at fishing.
