  • Keep crab traps closed

I plan to head down and do some crabbing and perch fishing when the crabs are slow. I bought 12 foxy mate top traps. How do you keep the doors shut when transporting them? Is there some easy fix for this?

You can just transport them upside down.

Yup use a bungee cord around the bottom trap then stack the rest inside. Also I use a milk crate and stack the traps in that which is convenient for me in the kayak as well as transporting.

I do not have the topless traps. I tied a piece of braid to a door where it wraps around the trap and ties to 6" of bungee, then clips to the same door on the other side. I bent a SS lock wire with a loop to slide on the bungee and a hook and clip it to the same door. I just wrap the string around the door and clip to use the traps.

              Problem is solved, thank you.
