I have never taken my yak out into the bay yet but i would difenently like to try it out one day would anyone have any pointers or have the time to show me the ropes?

I would suggest you go back a read the rigging posts in the boatyard section of the forum.

FIRST THING is 1) rod leashes (leash everything you do not want to lose)
SECOND practice a deep water turtle/resuce (water deeper than you can stand)

Plan on coming to the august meet. You will learn tons from talking and watching the other guys.
