  • Thank you Uncle Ned

Epic smallie day on the Juniata. Ned rig was the ticket. Biggest was 5.34#. 18x18 inches. Ridiculous. And a 4 # whopper. 39 others caught including several river chubs. See attached.

Very nice, the Ned is about all I can make myself throw for smallies anymore. I keep toying with other lures, but always come back.

Yeah! It's kind of funny how much money we spend on lures. Tough to beat and X rap in cold water though. QUOTE=bunnielab;135398]Very nice, the Ned is about all I can make myself throw for smallies anymore. I keep toying with other lures, but always come back.[/QUOTE]y

So true. I have an embarrassing pile of plastics and I really get in the way of gaining skill with a certain technique or lure as I keep jumping to some new thing that catches my eye. I am having a hell of a lot of fun, so I guess that's something.

I have been eyeing the Juniata for a while now. I have spent a few days wadfishing the Schuylkill over the summer and I wish the northern smallmouth rivers were closer. I have no experience river kayaking and I really want to get out there after them in some bigger water.
