  • Winter maintenance for mirage drive?

So, my first year with a peddle yak. Any advice for winter storage/maintenance?
    Thanks

Not a Hobie owner but I would give everything a good cleaning with fresh water, inspect everything for any excess wear or damage then lubricate everything per manufactures recommendation. Make sure to check for water in any crevices as well to prevent any damage from freezing. Then in the Spring lube everything, reinspect, and then retorque all the fasteners if applicable. This is the process I am using for my Propel.

I do continuous maintenance for my Mirage Drive throughout the year.

      After each trip I:

      1. Flush the entire unit with fresh water from a garden hose.

      2. Blow dry it with compressed air.

      3. Liberally apply WD-40 Specialist Water Resistant Silicone Lubricant onto the chains and into every crevice and pressure point.

      4. Inspect unit for wear.

      5. Store it by hanging it via both pedals from my garage ceiling.
