Yep- good eating size- I love them about that size as the upper end size- I have eaten 27 inch fish that were good- you can have all my 38-40 inch fish...don't want any...and there are some in the creek bigger than 40 inches...

Definitley good eating! I don't want to keep the big boys, just want to land one...or a bunch. I'm in it for the pullage after 28ish inches.
Thanks again, Ron, for letting us in on the launch and some of the contours of the creek. I hooked up to this fish about a half mile up stream from where the bulk of you guys were anchored last time. I found a nice 14-15 foot hole.

Wow, great catch! I envy you! I can only fish on weekends and holidays and that puts me at odds with family time. Throw in bad weather as a factor and my fishing days are somewhat limited. Can't wait for the days to start getting longer so that I can do some fishing after work.

Thanks, Mark! No, wasn't trolling for these guys. Half drifting and half anchored bottom fishing.
I was thinking about maybe getting into some tarpon or big reds down in Florida sometime soon but definitely trophy stripers this April!
Good luck in FL. I've seen tarpon rolling in the water there but never hooked one -- just their cousins, ladyfish. They're quite fun. Never got a red there either. I'm generous. I have a habit of leaving the reds to my fishing buddies on my FL kayak outings. But I'll bet you'll be hell on the specks. They're prevalent and willing and sometimes large. I look forward to your report from the sunshine state.

Yes, I have spent many many hours fishing the bridge. If you search Wilson Bridge on here you will find several post from a few different people. Blue catfish get popular every couple of years. I have had over 100 fish days and several trips with a dozen over 36" fish caught in just a few hours. I don't keep catfish so I can't speak of the taste but others on here have taken them for dinner.
This is one of the bigger ones I've caught there. IMG_1471.jpg
