These fish have me in a strange place. The more I see and hear about snakeheads the more I want to take a trip south to try my luck. They are established just south of me in the Philly area.
I live in the lehigh valley Pa. I never keep a fish and practice very strict catch and release as to not effect the natural food chain while I am out there. But I find myself wanting these fish to get their act together and get up here already. Strange contradiction to my naturalist beliefs but the size the agressiveness to strike, the fight not to mention the guilt free meal (in the name of keeping the river/lake pure) have me very intrigued. Have any of you in the affected areas seen decreases in natural species since the invasion of the wonderful monsters has begun? I almost see them as an exciting option to target rather than a obviously evasive species. Am I alone?
