  • Strategy: Tournament Fishing ?????

For those that have participated in Tournaments before and anyone really...

In a Tournament with a SLAM Division, among others, How do you decide what fish to target 1st?

Or do you pick one species and try to get the largest?

Chime off with all your ideas!!

Know thy quarry. For example, stripers typically feed when there's a good current and low light conditions. Target them when the tide is running early morning, sunset and at night. Bottom fish probably less dependent on strong current and feed during the day.

Well for the CBKA tourney troll spoons from the launch to the fishing grounds and hope to pickup a blue or two, Hit the drops and ledges while the tides moving to find rock and then work the jetties near the launch with beetle spins or mepps inline spinners to pickup perch.

Its not a long paddle to the bridge from the launch but it would be easier to make the trip to the bridge on the incoming tide then head back on the outgoing, let mother nature help you move.
