Mattawoman Creek- I am determined to get a snakehead- The bass fishing has been excellant, but the snakes have been having lock jaw- seeing lots of them finning and such but they haven't been eating what I have been throwing at them- try them again in the morning-

I may go to Pohick for finicky snakeheads that hopefully don't have lockjaw.

Im hoping to get out on the patapsco for mostly just a paddle with the wife. I might try to sneak a rod and lure aboard though...

I figure to get there about 9 or so and fish the rising tide- weather permitting-

I'll let you know around 8 tonight. I am thinking about trying live minnows like they do for specs for visible snakeheads. popping bobber, weedless hook

I can put you in the middle of some big ones- can't guarantee they will bite but I can guarantee you will see them-

Low tide is 8:39 a.m.- not much point in getting there before 9- figure to be there around 9 A.M. to fish the rising tide-

Seems I forgot an important happening tomorrow AM. I'll have to try another time. I am very curious to attack those guys with mummichogs and jointed rapalas.

I am not sure what I am doing tomorrow. I may try an experiment with Surfdog on trying to catch 2 dozen crabs from a kayak....we will see.

The floating pieces of hydrilla makes weedless baits the way to go on the Mattawoman for snakeheads- The areas where the snakes are thick in is only a few inches of water above the weed mats and lilly pads...jointed Rapala's work well in open water but the Snakeheads are mostly found in weed mats and back in the lilly pads- when I use crank baits in open water I catch some pretty nice bass but no snakeheads...
