All Hands On Deck for Arundel Water Access Budget - Email / Call the Anne Arundel County Council Today!

Hello all, it's budget time in Anne Arundel County and we need your support for the proposed water access budget. Please call or email the county council members ASAP!

The only contentious item is the longest-overdue item - $252,000 to finish planning improvements at Beverly Triton Beach Park, in process since *1983*. Please support the water access budget in general and specifically the planning money and public swimming at Beverly Triton Beach Park. After 35 years, the neighbors around BTBP want to postpone improvements *again*.

Tell your story in your words. Tell how you get to the water and what it means to you. Send a photo of your kid at a beach, your yak or the best fish you ever caught. Please include your full name and snail mail address so they know you're a real person. Email all 7 of our councilmen, but if you live in Anne Arundel County please tell them which district you live in.

      Lisa,

As always, thanks for your continued efforts towards small craft water access in AACO. Emails are on the way. I also plan to call my Councilman.

      Regards,
      Scott

You're welcome and thanks to all for contacting our county councilmen.

Contacting the county councilmen is important. The neighborhoods next to Beverly Triton turned out in force at the budget hearing to speak out against the money for Beverly Triton and if the councilmen don't hear from us the Beverly Triton funding may be taken out of the budget.

Please email and call as soon as you can. The budget was introduced May 1 and horses are being traded now.

Bump. The funding for Beverly Triton Beach Park improvements is in danger. Two of the seven Anne Arundel County Councilmen announced that they will vote to strip the funding from Beverly Triton Beach Park from the budget. Please email ALL the county councilmen in support of the Beverly Triton Beach Park funding NOW.

The neighborhoods around Beverly Triton have sent thousands of emails to the county councilmen opposing the Beverly Triton Beach Park. If we don't push back the funding will probably go away for another 20 years and we risk current use of Beverly Triton Beach Park being restricted as a "nature sanctuary." That's the stated goal in public testimony from the neighbors before the council.

Again, please speak in favor of funding for Beverly Triton Beach Park in emails to the council. Include your first and last names so they know you're a real person. County councilmen contact info below. There was a contentious county council meeting last night, the auditor represents her report this morning, horses are being traded by the end of this week and the final vote is next week Wednesday June 14th 2017.

          Thanks, Lisa

            Lisa,

            Thank you.

I have emailed my councilman and cc'd the others with my encouragement for them to approve the funding for Beverly Briton Beach improvements.

I cited the opportunity cost to taxpayers of continuing to delay the development a prime site for water access, especially in view of the popularity of other sites the county has opened in recent years. I stated that all county residents benefit from these improvements because they enhance the general quality of life in Anne Arundel County making it a desirable place for individuals, families and employers to locate. Of course, I also stated how much I have personally enjoyed many of the car-top launch sites the county has provided.
