Last year I hooked onto a few bigger fish, and I lost them all because I did not know how to to let the fish turn my yak (e.g. I kept the rod pointing up and tried to turn my body.
Then you guys pointed out to me that if you put the rod down lower pointing perpendicular to the yak, the fish will turn your yak. I have used that this year and it is such a simple but great technique.
I was wondering, a couple of things:
--> is there a best position to put your rod at (like down low almost to the water, or at a 45 degree angle to the water?
--> Secondly, with one fish, I tried to bring in my second line, while holding onto the other pole. It turned out, that this was the time the fish got really angled with the second line. So, I'm thinking it is best just to let the second line set in place. What do you guys think??
Best Regards,
Stan
