TKAA Tourney

I'm jumping on this too, since I haven't been there yet.

I would also like to make a RECON trip before the tourney as well.

The tourny is Sept 24. The checkin is 23rd.

I plan to be down there Friday morning or afternoon depending if I want to do some fishing.

I agree on the intel trip. I never been to the CBBT/Kipto/Fisherman Island place before.

I have never been there either. I will check in on Fri and I will check out on Sunday morning. I am usually too tired to drive at night after the dinner and award ceremony on Sat.

Ive fished cbbt. Hrbt. Lynnhaven. And fisherman island but haven't caught any of the target species.

It was $109.00/ night if you mention that you are in the TKAA Tournament. This is the 3rd year that I am staying in this hotel....oh yeah, it has free Internet and is next door to the conference center where the Captain Meeting and the Award Dinner and Raffle will be held. No need to drive, just walk.

Just booked my room at the Quality Suites. This is my 3rd TKAA tournament and sounds like the first time I will see other kayakers at Kipto for the tournament, I guess I can't keep it to myself forever. None of the other 200 plus enteries will cross the bridge.

There seems to be a lot of good information here and good opportunities to meet other fisherman and fish some new spots.

Welcome bigfluke45. This is a great forum and a great group of guys. Were are you staying for the tournament?

I am staying at the Country Inn and Suites, which based on the map should be a minute or two from the Quality suites and tourney headquarters. I found a room there for about $76/night so it saves me a few dollars.

Right on. Are you fishing in the MKF tournament on September 10th?

yeah, I'll be at that one too. I'm looking forward to being able to camp and not have to get up so early to get out there in the morning.
