Wash DC fishing??

Soo, with my love affair for Mattawoman over, wanting to tryout DC,, Potomac or Anacostia.
LMB and Snakeheads,, is it worth it?
Are they there in numbers?
Is there decent launches (kayaks)
Will I have to shoot my way in, and then back out ?

Any pointer would be welcome,

Great fishing at Columbia Island Marina, easy launch and paddle to fish the cove. Lots of LMB.

I am reading you need a "boater safety course certificate" to paddle a Kayak in DC waters??
How do the kayak rental places get around this??
