I plan on pushing off at 6:15 AM on Sat. Will be Jonas Green/ Sandy point/ or Smallwood. For stripers. I bought a new saltwater series Whopper Plopper for AM topwater. Not sure where the stripers are thick right now- its been warm of late. Any suggestions would be appreciated. And I will report back.

I agree and I would add light to the above list of factors. Your best bet for blind casting top water striper success is during dawn or dusk -- low light. By blind casting I mean when you do not see the stripers breaking the surface pounding baitfish. When you see that you could throw a chewing gum wrapper pierced by hook into the mix and catch them. But when you don't see them surface feeding and you want to catch them on top, your chances for success are increased by low light.Originally posted by ronaultmtd View Post

Caught two shorts. Fish all over the fish finder but slow! Water is 75 deg. No surface action. I guess I will just have to wait for Oct for more action!
