I'll bite. I guess I'm pretty new to the forum. I hadn't realized that I joined in 2009 and hadn't posted until today. I started kayak fishing a few years ago but didn't do much the past two years (thus not posting; didn't have much to say).

I just traded up to my father-in-law's old Scupper Pro so I'm getting back into fishing from the 'yak. I haven't fished it yet but I paddled it for a bit. I'm looking to fish the Patuxent or Potomac in the next couple of weeks for the maiden fish-voyage. Hopefully I'll get some pullage

I'll keep that in mind, . When I was in school down in VA I was pretty comfortable fishing solo since I knew the waters pretty well. Similarly, I'm fine fishing near the mouth of the Nanticoke since I know the waters. I'm not nearly as comfortable on the Western Shore of MD...

Yeah, as Memory Maker said- just say hi to break the ice- once you get over the first post it gets easy and everyone here are friendly tolerant folks that share a common passion of doing something most people don't do- fish from a tiny plastic boat-

                  Greetings from a Newbie

Alright, I'll stop reading all of your insight without saying hello and joining in.

I've been kayak fishing around the Bay (usually around Herring Bay/North Beach), Potomac (Piscataway Creek and Fort Washington) and Patuxant rivers (Put in at Hill's Bridge) for a couple of years now. I am always looking for other people around the area to go out and fish with. I'm just South of Annapolis and can easily meet people to go out anywhere from Severna Park to Prince Frederick in the evenings during the week and most anywhere else on the weekends. It's been hard to find other fishyakers around where I live.

                    Hi fellow newbies!!!

I broke the ice last week with my first post. It wasn't so bad LOL the guys and gals on the site have been nothing but great and welcoming. I usually fish near cox’s point in essex, or when my schedule allows the bay behind treasure beech in DE.. I am hoping to get out to the BB for some fall rock fish (schedule permitting).

That's more like it! Now if the other 35 or so who have joined but never post will jump in, we can all introduce ourselves- there are old folks like me who qualify for Medicare and youg uns like Pinch, back from the desert wars...and lots in between- there are paddlers and "peddlers" here. Fresh and salt water fishermen and women who do everything from science to fly airplanes- welcome- most of us are just like you, a few very experienced kayakers but most are fairly new to the sport- I got my first Kayak in February of this year and got my second in March.

I'm in the Dunkirk area, been kayak fishing WV rivers for 5-6 years,, just got into salt. I've put in at Hills bridge (catfish/Bass), Kings landing, North Beach, Solomons, and OC. plan to free up more "me" time and get out more.

Another new guy here, I'm in St Marys county and looking for my first fishing kayak. I fish for perch and catfish in the Solomons area most of the time but I'm looking to expand my horizons and eventually head out to the bay bridge.

                            Slack-

Sorry it took so long to get back on here, hurricane kicked our a$$ and tree fell on my house two days before that. No fishing for me for the last two weeks now

I go out 2-5 times a week (when the weather permits) and would love to meet up when you get some more of that coveted "me time". PM me or post on here, maybe we can get a group together and hit Solomons.

If you (or anyone else) are interested, a buddy and I are hitting the Potomac on Sun morning for some LM Bass and snakeheads if we can find 'em. I need to check the tides but we are planning on putting out at Piscataway (Wharf Rd) around 6:30/7:00 am.

Yup Memory Maker is correct, All you have to do take the first jump and say HI. I did several months ago and have found nothing but down to earth fellow fisherman that happen to fish using a smaller vessel. No person here has acted like they are better than anyone else. Some have nicer Yaks than others but they don't throw it in your face and act like a rich snob. I have found true friends here and nothing more and nothing less. I asked for some help with my yak on a rigging issue and had at least 20 replies and at least 1 member come to my house and actually help me with my delemna.
