Yea I thought it was my dryer going off balance. It just rumbled and got louder and soon my floor and desk shook.

Wonder how the fishing will be?

Because the fish's equalibrium is likely thrown off by this, they are naturally still shaking. I just read that jigging is no longer needed.....just reel in a straight line. Mother nature will do the rest.

I was at the bay bridge fishing. I thought someone ran into the side wall until I heard about it. That bridge went nuts.. Wires bouncing and making a whole lot of noise. They had the police out there later inspecting the underside and workers where walking the road areas.

Holy crap is right! Lemme tell ya... Not fun. I'm on the 8th floor and the building shook quite violently. I have a 10gal fish tank in my office. Water flew out of it! I thought it was going to go over! Wall pictures knocked askew and a few things came off shelves. We evacuated and after 20min back to work! Since the elevators were busy I walked up the 8 flights. There are cracks in the stairwell on the 6th, 7th & 8th floors!!! Same thing at home. Stuff knocked over but nothing broken. Although, I think my chimney cracked as there is masonry bits on the deck. Gonna have to get that checked out...

You know this was felt all the way up the east coast? I saw reports from Georgia all the way up to Toronto Canada, and as far west as Detroit... Due to the granite bedrock, energy transfers very easily on our side of the country. If we get a big one...look out.

It was freaky, Ron. Sorry to hear about your loss. Luckily, my fish tanks at home and our wine rack escaped unscathed. Some things knocked over but nothing broke.

Good wine should be in a glass, not on the floor- but if that is the extent of my loss, I'll be happy...I am more worried about what is coming Saturday- flying debris, broken limbs and uprooted trees with a big hurricane coming up the bay, especially with the right quadrant of the storm, we need to be on the lookout for fast developing tornados as it gets close.

I have a trip next Monday to Norfolk, but that will depend on the extent of damages of the hurricane to the area.
