April M&G take a kid catfishin'- Bushwood wharf 4/21/18

Find a teen, kid, son, daughter, grandkid, neighbor....or let me hook you up with one! April 21, 10 AM at bushwood wharf. The Blue catfish should be thick...nice sized for kids 18-26" mostly. Biting on cut baits and nightcrawlers. My fav is white perch, but menhaden, gizzard shad or frozen spot work, too.

i can scrape up a couple tandem kayaks if you have little guys ....but i like towing a yak to the spot to fish and then loosely tying together with a bungee cord through side handles. Towing with a line on bow of kid's boat then putting a loop over the shoulder. Just coil up the rope while fishing! If the weather is calm, this is a good canoe trip, too.

Any updates to this Meet and Greet? Right now the weather for Saturday is 59 degrees, mostly sunny, with no rain and NW 8 mph winds.

If this is still on I plan on attending. Ill have my kid in a tandem and I'm trying to convince my wife to bring a kid out if an extra tandem is available. I have all the gear needed.

I was stuck in the fishing mecca of Laredo, TX for work last week so I'm dying to get out on the water.

I was going to prefish this on Sunday but wind blew me out.....but it looks like it should be great on Sat.! Frozen Menheddon, cut perch, night crawlers, should all work great!

If you need a tandem I guess you should contact Nhunter. looks like all my boats will be spoken for!

Can you provide any info on turnout from years past? My wife has volunteered to cook up some hot dogs and hamburgers if the interest is there.

I have not heard a lot of chatter so I am not sure what turn out will be....this is the first ever family event for snaggedliners that I know of other than the tournament. So I don't really know what to tell you other than we'll catch fish!

Here's what we're planning. We'll bring the grill and a good amount of hotdogs, hamburgers, buns, fixins, etc. Nothing fancy, but all are welcome to indulge (while supplies last...). It will be a small portable propane grill, but we'll open it up for use if someone feels the need to grill up some freshly caught catfish filets (BYOIngredients)!

How did it go? Any croakers?

super toughfishing....water temps dropped 10F in 48 hours and had negative impact on fishing.....today, however, was great. Have not heard of croakrr.
