Where would you go?

Schedule allows me to finally get out for some fishing on Wednesday. Thinking of taking the kayak to the Occoquan River for shad or whatever, but I don't know what the water temperature or condition (eg muddy, fast, etc.) of the river is. Alternatively, I could shore fish for shad in the Potomac from under the Chain Bridge. So which one should I do??

I will be hitting the Occoquan this Wednesday too. I will probably launch out of Occoquan Regional Park.
