Senko’s

I decided to do some pond fishing and decided to use Senko’s. Yesterday I used a bag of newer Yamamoto Senko’s and could catch 4 or more fish before the bait was toast. Today I pulled a bag from deep in the tackle box, easily a decade old. I was amazed how much softer the plastic was. I was lucky to get two fish off of one bait, but only one on the others and several just ripped off the hook from a short bite. Did I miss a formula change making the new ones harder or could “aging” the bait in the dark have impacted the consistency? Yamamoto’s have never lasted long (but boy do fish hold them) but these were a new level of soft.

I have some old H&H Cacahoe Minnows from a 2000 Louisiana Gulf Coast fishing trip...they are sealed in plastic pouches never opened....and the plastic seems a lot different...
