Hell the cities and counties don't even provide tidy bowl counter measures, they just take a dump on us. Just jiggle the handle.

But none of mine- we have a septic tank in the front yard- Got County water but no sewer system- with all the federal cutbacks and state cut backs- EPA clean air and clean water regulation enforcement is out the window- mostly self reporting-

I will practice catch and release the rest of the year-

It just occurred to me that it is strange that we have just come to accept these overflows as routine.

I agree- You would think the EDF or Chesapeake Bay Association or Sierra Club would file suit in federal court for enforcement action- but no one has- not the Waterman's Association nor the seafood industry-

I'm mostly done with fishing this season anyway, might get out one or two more times before the cold weather comes in. I recently got a bow and plan on deer hunting during the cold weather, though I'm a beginner and a poor shot, need a lot of practice.

Too late to start practicing for deer season if you are a poor shot ......... you don't want to wound a deer brcause you didn't begin practicing early enough to become proficient ..........

When I went bow hunting I would start practicing in April at least 3 times a week ........... now I use a cross bow the few times I go .......... can consistantly hit a 50 cent bulls eye at 25 yards .......

Besides ......... best fishing of the year is about to begin ......... now till Dec.

I know, I won't try unless I'm a good shot. If I do hunt this year, it'll be late in the season.

I have two torn rotator cuffs from decades of archery- now I hunt with a crossbow- and like has been said- you can hit a quarter size target at 25 yards- I use "Meatseeker" mechanical broadheads- they fly like a fieldpoint, are deadly and always open completely-

I pickedup my 2010 Hobie Outback Tuesday because time is the most precious thing we have- if I waited until next year, maybe I wouldn't be here next year- no one is guaranteed any future time- we have today- tomorrow is a maybe-

Don't worry Ron, the best fishing is yet to come... always is. No idea when though!

I'm hoping all this rain quits in the next week or so before the fall pattern gets all screwed up!
                        Used to fish more.

Not looking good. They are expecting to open 50 of the 53 flood gates by Friday afternoon. Here is a link to some pics of the river from this afternoon over on Tidal Fish. The pic at the mouth is the most concerning. This might be worse than the Agnes flooding.

The PA flooding promises more water coming down the Suzy Q than Agnes- 38.9 feet right now- looks like we will get additional rains today- we are getting downpours at my house right now- we have had over 13 inches of rain in Charles County-

I want to get my new Outback to Backyard Boats to replace the plastic rudder assembly piece that we broke Tuesday loading it on my car- talked to them yesterday about the work- they said they could fix it in ten minutes max and I would be out the door- I don't know why I am in such a hurry to fix the yak- can't use it for a while, but you know how it is- brand new to you toy; you want it ready to go- the weather effects we are facing today makes it hard for me to get to Backyard Boats in Woodbridge- if I can drive to it, I can drive in to my office next door to the White House- I can just see me driving up with my Outback on my roof to my parking spot in downtown D.C.

If the rain keeps up you may need your Outback in DC.

I certainly hope so, I have not done that much fishing my self this year.
