  • Good bye fishing as we knew it!

The end of back breaking casting "8 and bait" off the surf is over. Now they have a drone that will cast for you - out to 1 kilometer!

    Enjoy,

If they get popular here, I suspect pilot error will lead to many of these drones joining the other bright orange pieces of plastic I see floating throughout the Bay as crab pot markers. Only they'll be a quite a bit more expensive than a hunk or foam or a painted bleach bottle.

I saw a few people flying them around ANP harbor during the boat show. I kept thinking, one dunk and there goes a bunch of money. Used to be, they only had like 15-20 minute battery life. If they have as many " fuel exhaustion" episodes as General Aviation pilots, they probably will be contributing to the earth's plastic pollution problem.

… and once they get past the 12 mile limit, those drones will begin to succumb to the ol' 870

          That’s pretty cool though!

I can see this technology being used in NW Florida when the Cobia run just off the beaches (outside of casting range of shore-bound anglers).

Waterproof and you can land it on the water to have the camera peer beneath the waves. Like Mark said, pilot error by landing all cockeyed might be a bigger problem than dunking it. Price with extras pushes you north of $2K, maybe close to $3K. Ouch

Just make a surf cannon, also known as a potato gun. Problem solved.

One of my friends caught a big fish (?) in the picture below last year.

I should think outside of the box.

I took an old drone years ago and modified the camera gimbal to drop those little toy parachute soldiers for my kid. A little foresight and I could be selling you guys fishing drones!
