I'm usually hunting in November too, but a fishing trip out of Smith's marina sounds great. I'm in. I've crabbed out of a jon boat there many times (It's a pretty good crabbing spot), but never fished the area. Anywhere with hot food and cold beer fine with me.

It's actually pretty roomy and I think it's about as good as it gets for a sit-in, and I've caught a lot of fish in it. Just get the solo skiff between now and then so you can show it off. Or a PA, or a stik boat.
I will be there. Pat, thanks for the offer , however I just picked up a 2017 PA14 today. So no Solo Skiff. BUT, maybe I can put a gas motor on this.

Afraid I am not going to make it Saturday, little too windy. Was really looking forward to fishing that area. Good luck to those that give it a try, be safe!

As of now I am postponing this event due to safety concerns I have with the weather. The steady ~20mph winds with gusts over 30 plus the water temps in the 50s sounds a bit risky. If anyone disagrees I wish you a productive but SAFE outing, please be careful. If the weather forecast changes by tomorrow afternoon to something more favorable, I will change my mind. I haven't called around to any lunch spots for reservations, as I was waiting on a more positive forecast...but I can tomorrow if anyone wants to still do the lunch (I would most likely not attend). I did call the marina and they were fine with the event taking place there, so long as everyone pays on their way out (they don't open until 8, and I typically launch there before sunrise).

That is probably a good call. Pickerel have been very difficult (if not impossible) to find in Severn creeks. When I was on the river last Sun and Mon, there were lots of leaves floating on the water, which makes trolling tough. Strong winds for Sat make your decision an easy one.

If anyone still wants to meet for lunch at 11:45 that day to talk about fishing, we can meet at the Ramshead Roadhouse on Generals Hwy (not far from Smiths Marina). However, I will not show up unless I have a positive RSVP from others.

Wise call on the outing given the projected conditions.

                  I'm in for lunch.

Just wanted to thank you for the effort to set up this M&G, I was looking forward to fishing that area for some Pickerel. Maybe this can be done sometime next year.

Let's try for 11:45. So far just you, Mark, and me. We'll see if anyone else is interested.

I'm also canceling out due to the wind. Given the rut is still on, I'm going to grab my crossbow and go out in the woods, so I won't be able to make the lunch. Thanks for the effort of setting this M&G up, and hopefully we can reschedule.

                                Don,

You're very brave to publicly commit your reputation to being seen and dining with me and John and John. The good news is that you may pick up a few pointers about kayak fishing. At the very least you'll hear stories about the ones that got away.

                                Thank you for joining us.

                                See you there.
