Happy Thanksgiving

Wishing all my forum friends a very happy, healthy and bountiful Thanksgiving...we all have reasons to be thankful to celebrate another year on planet Earth. I made two new fishing buddies here on Snaggedline...Doug- Mojopod and Manny, Baitball...two really great guys I enjoy being out on the water with...and although it has been a down year, I have logged thirty-two legal keeper Striped Bass caught this year, about two thirds my normal catch, including two 30(+) fish...one sickly looking 18 inch redfish, a 12 1/2 inch white Perch and 17 speckled trout most under 18 inches...I have a lot to be thankful for...Big Mike, Yak 67, Kevin Fry, Bill...have not fished with Moc this year🤕...but still I have got a lot to be thankful for...Happy Thanksgiving Snaggedliners...

My kayak catch numbers certainly were not impressive during this rainy and windy year. And family obligations intervened far too often to prevent me from fishing as much as I wanted even when weather permitted.

But I am thankful the 2018 opportunities I did have and especially for my family that finds me indispensable.

I’m also thankful for the many tidal and freshwater fishing opportunities we have locally. That includes the white perch that provided sustained action this year when stripers took a respite from the Severn’s waters where I routinely caught them in the past. That includes the new Downs Park Bodkin Launch that produced 5 species – stripers, white perch, and the surprise appearances of yellow perch, channel cats and the rare (for me) tidal pickerel. That includes MD’s and DE’s freshwater ponds that are great locations for those chilled early and late season kayak outings for bass, bluegills, pickerel and crappie.

Lastly, I’m exceedingly thankful for the camaraderie of my many Snaggedine and Free State Fly Fisher friends. I’ve learned to be a better angler by my association with you and I’ve immensely enjoyed your company. To each you I offer my appreciation for your friendship and my warmest Thanksgiving wishes.
