I didn’t catch this out of a kayak, but I got a chance to fish for peacock bass while in Miami. The fight was phenomenal.

There is a kayak fishing guide just north of Ft Lauderdale that fishes the canals between Lake Ida and Lake Osborne for peacocks and clown knifefish. They post pictures of large specimens of each fairly regular. Hoping to get an inflatable Hobie for Xmas this year and start trying that area myself. The company I work for has six projects around Okeechobee that I go to semi-regular, and a I’m all about mixing business with pleasure.
