  • Native sponsors new kayak bass tournament

Yesterday Native Watercraft announced a new Tournament of Titans to be held on Lake Guntersville in Alabama on October 5. One of the unique features of this tournament is that you will be able to compete in the same field as back-to-back Bassmaster Classic Champion, Jordan Lee in a kayak fishing tournament. The top three finishers will win cash prizes and new Titan Propel 10.5 kayaks. Register today as slots are limited!

That sounds like a really fun tournament, though I rarely fish for bass so I'd be useless. I like that this tournament has cash prizes, you don't see that with many kayak tournaments besides the EKFT events. I think even Hobie worlds doesn't actually have cash prizes, is that correct?

      Wow.

That tournament offers some large payouts.

Those boys down there are probably pretty serious about their fishing, especially with so much prize money on the line. I'd be way out of my league. But I think it would be a fun experience to see their rigs. If I lived closer I'd attend just to see them at the launch.

Also, the rules say it's for conventional tackle only. No fly division. I'd fly fish anyway. They'd probably get a good laugh at me in my sparsely rigged Ultimate 12 slinging flies -- until they saw the bend a nice largemouth can put on a long rod.

Please come back to this in October and post the results John. (Unless someone from SL attends and posts a report.) Perhaps Native will provide a link with tournament photos.
