For the cats just pick your favorite bottom rig; the current can get strong at some points so I usually end up using something 1.5-2oz+ to keep the bait down. They don't seem to be too picky in terms of what you throw at them. I've used a can of old smelly catfish bait from BPS stuck onto a treble hook before, but bloodworms and even nightcrawlers seem to work very well too. I haven't seen or targeted much else but perch (they go for spinners with some consistency) however I did find a mangled half-rotten carcass of what coulda been a carp at one point washed up on the shoreline.
