I was heading for Marshall Hall to get some blue cats for the freezer when some Intel drifted my way that caused me to look to Breton Bay and St. Clements Bay. As the perch spawning begins, the big blue cats run up the creeks to feast on spawned out yellow and white perch....seems now was the time.
No need to go into much detail but I had three doubles in about 30 min, turned loose a 30+ incher. I took a long rest (I'd taken a spine in the middle.of my hand) and read my Kindle for a bit then caught a couple more and headed for a bird watching pedal ..... towing a nice stringer. The fish were exceptionally feisty today, one even leapt clear of the water! A first for me. No fish under 20.
Lots of fillets cooling for vacuum packing.
