    REPLACEMENT HOOK SIZE CHART*
    Treble .......................Single Replacement
    #10......................................... #6
    #8........................................... #4
    #6........................................... #2
    #4........................................... #1
    #2........................................... 2/0
    #1........................................... 3/0
    1/0.......................................... 4/0
    2/0.......................................... 5/0
    3/0.......................................... 6/0
    4/0.......................................... 7/0
    5/0.......................................... 8/0

With that being said, you use a smaller hook than is recommended... Is that just because of what you have on hand?
I like the sharpness and results I get of the Owner 2/0 hook on the rear of the XRap...and I put a 1/0 hook on the front hook...the lure action is as good or better than the factory trebles...and when you hookup...you rarely ever lose the fish...and here is one of my double swimbait combinations I use this time of year

If you replace trebles in the middle of lures with inline hooks make sure you keep the hook gap open toward the front of lures. (Keep the hook point down.) That will enhance hookups. Othwise the hook point will retract to the body of the lures during the retrieve. When replacing the back hook, positioning is more a matter of personal choice.

Yes you do. The warmest water I saw a week ago was 49 degrees.
