Also automation. I'd guess beetle spins can be made almost completely by machine.

I always mistakenly assume that certain things need to made by hand. Then I stumble across an episode of 'How Its Made' and am amazed at some of the things they can automate.

I recently started making some of my own soft plastics. Plastisol is expensive, but when I caught my first 26" channel cat on a crawfish plastic I had hand made a few nights prior, I was hooked! My next step is to pick up a new frog mold so I can drum up some snakehead with homemade plastic!!!
