There is already a M&G scheduled for July 20 at St Inigoes. We may need to move it a couple miles due to ramp construction but we are still having it.

      Hey Coop,

I would love to attend a M&G at Lowe's Wharf again this year - after all, I have YOU to thank for owning a Hobie Revolution. I decided to get one last year, after all of that paddling!

I can't make it the weekend after July 4, and if you don't want to double-up with the other M&G, I can do the last weekend in July.

See what others have to say - I'd hate to miss it, but if more people can attend the second weekend, I'll just have to make a trip down there another time.

Thanks for suggesting it - last year was one of the best times I have had kayak fishing.

I think last year the Lowes Wharf meetup was the most attended M&G of the year. The year before last, I had a scheduling conflict and I think nearly everyone caught their limit?

I would also be interested. This was the spot where I caught my first striped bass while trolling from a kayak (and then 20-30 more!), so it'll always be near and dear to my heart.

My first striped bass on a kayak came from this M&G last year. I battled a lot of rookie mistakes that day - wind knots, leader to line knot failure, putting soft plastics on jig heads crooked, etc. But I have come a long way since then. I upgraded my kayak, I have two new rod/reel combos, and lots of other stuff. It was that trip to Lowes Wharf that convinced me that I wanted to take on this hobby full speed ahead.

And like others have said on this board before, the camaraderie, fellowship and wealth of knowledge you get from others in the group makes it all the more rewarding. Some examples just from that day: Coop let me borrow a flag since I had never paddled on the bay before; whenican let me tag along as explained the process and gave me plenty of tips and advice; MOC gave me a ZMan Diesel in Opening Night color since that was the hot color that morning; Mark gave me some insight into fly fishing from a kayak; there are more than I can remember I'm sure.

Lowes Wharf was always fun for me too, for the same reasons that everyone stated. I like the area because it has so much varied waters to fish. Such as there are other islands there that you can fish around and catch fish in skinny waters, then there are deeper channels to fish, and there are grassy, woodsy and sandy shoreline to fish. Pretty neat area, with the convenience of a restaurant at the launch with great views and crab cakes......

Lowes Wharf has been a great M&G location over the years and Coop has always done a wonderful job making arrangements for us.

Last year John Rentch and I crossed the Bay Bridge the day before the M&G and launched from Claiborne Landing which is north of Lowes. He and I had a fantastic day catching 90 plus stripers between us as we fished from Claiborne landing to Tilghman Point and back. We spent the night in an Easton motel and found a Chinese Buffet for dinner much to my delight. Staying in Easton Friday night made it easy for us to arrive at Lowes by daybreak where indeed there was a big gathering of Snaggedliners.

I think darned near every participant broke the 20 fish barrier that day. There was a lot of happiness buzzing on my radio. My first catch was on topwater about 100 yards north of the launch. That set the tone for a good day of fishing. All in all it was an excellent outing and I look forward to visiting the area again.

Lowe’s wharf and Coop also have a special place in my heart starting out fishing in more challenging waters than a shallow lake in a sit-in Disk’s special. The community has been great to bring me in, teach me the ropes, and help turn this interest into a passion. I hope this can happen this summer, count me in anytime.
