  • Anyone fished out of the Smithsonian Research Center in South AA Cnty?

I have been to this facility but have never fished out of there. Anyone launched there? Any issues with the ramp or anything else? I know about the limited parking already.

I have not launched from there but have fished the area with a friend in his small boat. Very good perch fishing throwing jigs and spinners in the shallows.

I've scoped out this area several times via Google Earth Pro, but have never been. I'm assuming you're talking about putting in at the research center, rather than launching at BT and the long pedal/paddle around?

            Mike,

That's not far from where we had the epic white perch/catfish day last summer, right?

Correct. We covered enough water to get there (but we heading out towards the mouth of the Rhode) i've been upstream towards whitemarsh creek, but i've never been back that way past flat island towards oniell island. I bet there's good perching!

I'm thinking of launching here this Saturday with my son to do a little perch fishing (and to see some new scenery). He wants to drop a few crab traps. Anyone done any crabbing here in the Rhode River?

I'm also trying to go out tomorrow, posted in the general forum to see if anyone wants to meet up. Won't crash your party without an invite though, alone time with the kids is important.

I think we’re now going Sunday instead, and thinking of putting in at Goodhands on Choptank River. Probably get there to launch by 6am. You’re welcome to come.

Crud Sunday is a no-go for me. I'll post pics of my trip tomorrow wherever it is, and hope you do the same Sunday.
